“Airchoir No. 1: Organum for 8 Coded Organ Voices” is the first version of a series of sound installations combining audio and textiles. 8 inflatables acting as a choir play a fully programmed composition on 8 organ pipes.

Different resonances, enharmonics and notes occur and evolve into an f major chord.

Interferences arise between the different organ pipes. Vibrations and beating waves are created by how certain frequencies of the organ pipes influence each other. This way the constantly rising and falling, almost breathing inflatables interact with each other.

The sound of the composition is different depending on the position of the visitor and the location in which the installation is installed.
