“The album ‘Mikroskopien III’ is a 55-minute composition that develops slowly and delicately over time. Purposefully, Zimoun assembles the fragile sounds into a wide and open sound space. Listening attentively, new details seem to unfold all the time, as when outlines appear in the fog and disappear again. Zimoun ‘found’ the sounds in microscopic examinations, as he describes, in order to then isolate them and use them as components for the composition. The result is a hypnotic, psychoacoustic sound space of poetic beauty and minimalist consistency.” Nina Naok

“The series ‘Mikroskopien’ is based on microscopic recordings and sounds, which I dissect into their smallest parts in the studio. In doing so, I use different highly sensitive microphones and recording methods. In this way, I reach into the sonic microstructures. Somehow I did not really create the melodies you hear in this album myself, but rather discovered, excavated and isolated them, similar to the way one encounters visual patterns and textures with a microscope and enhances its visibility. Working that way, it kind of feels like entering a parallel universe.” Zimoun
