Dear listeners and sound art lovers,
Welcome to our first newsletter! We’re like you to take you on a journey through the start of noise-radio.com, take a look at our current activities, and share our exciting plans for the future.
The Beginning and the Founding
Noise-radio.com was founded with a passion for sound art and a vision to create a platform for experimental and artistic audio. From our small but dedicated team in the Netherlands, we started as a non-commercial, independent radio station focused on broadcasting unique sound art related content. Our first broadcasts consisted of a broad palette, with which we managed to reach a diverse audience looking for something different from mainstream music. (although we play some songs that are or where mainstream, but have great artistic value from our point of view)
Our mission was simple: to provide a space where sound artists could share their work and where listeners could discover new and unusual sound experiences. With limited resources but great enthusiasm, we launched our 24/7 broadcasts and slowly began to build a community of sound- art artist and enthusiasts.
The Current State
Today, noise-radio.com has grown into a unique platform for sound art and experimental music. We broadcast a wide range of tracks 24/7, including field recordings, soundscapes, nature recordings, radio and transmission art, experimental and electronic audio/music and audio created as works of art. Our programming includes shows such as “Earth an Space” where listeners are transported to unique soundscapes, and “Random Radio” where the most groundbreaking experimental and electronic music is heard.
In addition, we will regularly broadcast live events and relay audio streams from other sources, as we did during the yearly Dawn Chorus from Soundtent, giving our listeners access to a constant stream of innovative audio experiences. More shows are under development for example special 24h or 48h broadcasts from a theme or a prior open call. Our listeners are not just passive recipients, but active participants in our community. We encourage everyone to share their own sound art projects and creative sound experiments with us via instagram @noise.radio.station or noise@noise-radio.com.
Future developments
We are committed to evolving noise-radio.com and providing even more value to our listeners and the sound arts community. Here are some of our plans for the future:
- Expansion of Our Programming: We are developing new shows and segments that offer even deeper insights into the world of sound art. Expect interviews with sound artists, behind-the-scenes looks at the making of sound art and special thematic broadcasts.
- Interaction and Community Engagement: We want to further strengthen our interaction with the community. This includes more interactive shows where listeners can participate.
- Collaborations and Partnerships: We are actively seeking collaborations with other sound art organizations, festivals and individual artists to expand our reach and impact. These partnerships will help us offer even more exciting and diverse content.
